Welcome to cumie ("we," "us," or "our"). cumie is developed and operated by AstraZenith ("Company"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App") and related services. By using cumie, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and password (stored in hashed form).
  • Profile Information: Your self-described gender, age, dating preferences, communication style preferences, interests, and hobbies as provided during onboarding and profile setup.
  • Partner Profiles: Information you enter about people you are communicating with, including their name, personality traits, interests, and relationship stage. This data is stored on our servers to provide personalized suggestions.
  • Chat Content: Text messages and conversation excerpts you paste or type into the App for the purpose of generating reply suggestions. This content is processed by our AI service to generate responses and is not permanently stored after processing unless you choose to save a conversation with the AI coach.
  • Images: If you use the screenshot analysis or AI photo generation feature, images you upload are processed to provide the requested service. Screenshots analyzed via the "on-device OCR" option are processed entirely on your device and never transmitted to our servers.
  • Support Communications: If you contact us for support, we may collect your name, email, and the content of your messages.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and app version.
  • Usage Data: Feature usage patterns, session duration, screens visited, and interaction counts (e.g., number of suggestions generated).
  • Log Data: IP address, access times, and referring URLs when you interact with our services.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Payment Processors: If you purchase a subscription, payment is handled by Apple's App Store (via RevenueCat). We receive subscription status and transaction identifiers but never receive or store your payment card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features, including generating AI-powered reply suggestions, dating advice, conversation starters, and AI-generated photos.
  • Personalize your experience based on your communication style, preferences, and partner profiles.
  • Process transactions and manage your subscription.
  • Send you service-related notifications (e.g., subscription changes, feature updates).
  • Respond to your support requests and communicate with you.
  • Analyze usage trends and improve our AI models and services.
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse.

4. AI Processing and Data

cumie uses artificial intelligence to generate reply suggestions, dating advice, conversation topics, and styled photos. When you submit text or images for AI processing:

  • Your input is sent to our AI service provider(s) for processing.
  • AI-generated suggestions are provided to you in real time and are not permanently stored on our servers after delivery, unless you save a coach conversation.
  • We may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve our AI models. Individual conversations are never used to train AI models in a way that could identify you.
  • The "on-device OCR" feature processes screenshots entirely on your device using local machine learning. No image data is transmitted when this option is selected.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We share data with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App, including cloud hosting (for data storage), AI service providers (for generating suggestions), and payment processors (for subscription management). These providers are contractually obligated to use your data only for the purposes we specify.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Safety: We may disclose information to protect the rights, property, or safety of AstraZenith, our users, or others.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

6. Data Retention

  • Account Data: We retain your account and profile information for as long as your account is active.
  • Chat Content for Suggestions: Text and images submitted for AI processing are retained only for the duration of the processing request and are deleted within 24 hours of processing.
  • AI Coach Conversations: Saved coach conversations are retained until you delete them or your account.
  • Usage Analytics: Aggregated, anonymized usage data may be retained indefinitely for analytics and improvement purposes.
  • After Account Deletion: Upon account deletion, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest.
  • Hashed and salted password storage.
  • Token-based authentication for API access.
  • Regular security reviews and updates.
  • Access controls limiting employee access to user data.
